Standing approximately 12 inches tall and weighing over 10 pounds, this exceptional example represents the highest echelon of contemporary Czech glass artistry.
The vase is formed from luminous lead-free crystal, saturated in a profound cobalt blue that transitions seamlessly into a glowing aquamarine base. This masterful color graduation creates remarkable optical depth, allowing light to refract through the crystal with extraordinary brilliance and dimensionality.
Encircling the surface is an exquisitely hand-engraved underwater tableau featuring koi fish in fluid motion, interwoven with stylized botanical elements. Each line is cut entirely by hand using traditional copper wheel engraving techniques — a process requiring immense precision, steady discipline, and years of mastery. As light moves across the surface, the scene appears suspended within the crystal, creating a mesmerizing three-dimensional effect.
The vase is signed “T. Bobela” near the lower base — an important mark of individual authorship within the Moser atelier. Works by Bobela are celebrated for their refined realism, depth of field, and dynamic composition.
This example retains its original Moser Czech Republic label and original presentation box with fitted foam inserts — preservation details highly valued by collectors and increasingly rare on the secondary market.
