This exceptional late nineteenth-century Vienna porcelain cabinet plate depicts the legendary Cleopatra in a beautifully hand-painted classical scene rich in color, detail, and refined craftsmanship. Artist signed "F. Koller" in gold enamel at the lower left, the reverse bears the handwritten title "Cleopatra" together with the traditional underglaze blue bindenschild ("beehive") mark long associated with fine Vienna porcelain of the period.
The portrait is framed by an elaborate burgundy border accented with richly executed raised gilt decoration, delicate floral ornamentation, and elegant cobalt blue and blush highlights. It remains housed in what appears to be its original Victorian gilt composition frame, whose naturally aged patina beautifully complements the porcelain while preserving its period presentation.
Signed works by F. Koller are documented on other fine Vienna porcelain examples from this era, making this an especially appealing acquisition for collectors of antique European porcelain and Victorian decorative arts.

Condition Report: The plate is in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs observed. It retains vibrant hand-painted decoration with beautiful raised gilt accents and exhibits only light surface wear and a few fine glaze scratches consistent with age and careful display. The original Victorian gilt composition frame displays a beautiful, aged patina with minor wear and scattered gilt loss consistent with its age.
